Raisin Hope Ride
The fourth annual Raisin Hope Foundation Ride for 2010 is scheduled for the weekend of September 4th this year. The ride will start at Prater’s Mill, 500 Prater Mill Road NE, Dalton, GA 30721 at 8:00 AM. The distance options which will be offered are: a metric century (60 miles), 40 miles, 15 miles, or 6 miles. All riders will enjoy a complimentary lunch and a chance to win one of several door prizes. All pre-registered riders are guaranteed a t-shirt. For online registration, go to www.raisinhope.org Pre-registration cost is $35.00 per rider and ride day cost is $45.00 per rider $10.00 for children 12 and under when accompanied by an adult.

DALTON FREIGHT DEPOT
Visitor Center, Gift Shop and Event/Meeting Space

Dalton Freight Depot
The Dalton Freight Depot now houses the official Visitor Center in Dalton, Georgia. The center is open to welcome visitors to Dalton and Whitfield County and provide information on the area. While at the Depot you may visit the giftshop, where you can find items like ornaments, shirts, miscellaneous memoribilia, and much more. During your visit to the Freight Depot you can experience what it feels like to be part of the show with recently installed state of the art technology that allows railfans to hear the actual engineer transmissions as the trains approach the depot. Located at 305 South Depot Street, the historic Freight Depot has been completely restored and is one of the community's most recently renewed historic treasures. The Depot is open every day except Sunday from 9 a.m. until 5 p.m. The Depot houses offices, a gift shop and Visitor Center, and event/meeting space. Dalton Cyclists

Nestled in the foothills of the North Georgia Mountains, Dalton is a great starting point for both road and off-road cycling adventures. Whether you are a beginner level road rider or an expert level mountain biker, the Dalton/Whitfield County area serves well as an all around cycling destination. Raisin Woods is a mountain bike trail located within the city limits on Brooker Drive, just a few short minutes from the downtown area. Raisin Woods is a great place for mountain biking.
